If I happen to be home and not out having supper, you'll most likely find me lying down on the couch tuning in to Channel News Asia. Not that I'm a news-junkie but just to see what my favourite TV personality looks like for the night. Plus, she has got the perfect voice for late night news - soft, calm and easy on the ears.

Glenda Chong is her name and she reads the news for Asia Tonight (11:00pm) and World Tonight (Midnight). She looks darn good 99.99% of the time - with her hair clipped to the back, slightly permed, tousled or simple let down.

I've searched the internet for good snapshots of her but there doesn't seem to be any. Earlier this week, I was at the news-stand and was pleasantly surprised to see her on the cover of Female magazine. So if anyone of you is done reading it, please do not feel shy - pass it over to me. Many thanks in advance.

11th consecutive clean sheet. That's a new club record. Nobody can take that away from us 'cos those 11 games consisted of matches from the Champions League, Premier League and now the FIFA Club World Championship.

Supressing Deportivo Saprissa yesterday was not that tall an order. Made easy meat of them to say the least. But seeing Traore and Josemi in the starting line did worry me a ~~little~~ lot. Especially since the team was also attempting to break the clean sheet record. So, I expected to see the usual back 4.

'Purple Monsters' has got to be one of the cutest monikers for any football club. And the team certainly looked the part - faces turning purple from all the chasing they had to do for the majority of the game. Sao Paulo certainly has their work cut out for them. Surely, they'll want to curb the advances of Riise and Gerrard come Sunday.

Let's just hope the boys will not get too tired 'cos when they return back, they have 4 games waiting for them in a space of 8 days. But everything seems to be going right at the moment. Strikers are delivering the goods. Cisse is becoming more of a team player. No serious injuries, except for Zenden who'll be out for the rest of the season. January cannot come any sooner. If Gerrard is excited by Benitez's targets, there's nothing else to be said.

Went out last night looking for a place to eat at Diagon Alley. Most have closed for the ~~day~~ night. Well, at 1:00am+ what can you expect? Found one which was still open for business.

Took a photo of the alley. I'd always prefer to have subjects in my photos - be it animals, animagi (plural for animagus), wizards (and witches alike) or muggles. Spotted Crookshanks, Mrs Norris and their feline friends lazing in the middle of the road when we first arrived in Neville's flying Toyota Corona.

But somehow they disapparated into thin air the very moment I took my camera out. Not particularly pleased with this shot altogether. Gotta buck up on the night shots. Still learning the ropes with regards to exposure and apertures. Maybe I should learn from that Rita Skeeter.

As we sipped butterbeer, a Dementor floated down from the roof. We were helpless as Hagrid left his wand in the car which was parked 5 feet away. It sucked the living daylights out of our poor gargantuan but gentle caretaker. It happened in a nano-heartbeat that 5 feet seemed like 15 - hence we couldn't get Hagrid's wand in time for him to perform the Patronus Charm. And we couldn't perform it either because (a) under-aged wizards aren't allowed to perform magic outside of Hogwarts, (b) only Harry was taught how to do it ~~and (c) Harry was absent 'cos he went to meet Sally~~.

Hijacked this photo from Simon's blog. He is such an internet search whore. This a toilet in one of the Sofitel Hotels. Wonder if the person behind this is a male or female. Not that it matters alot. But just what is it that he/she is trying to achieve?

If you ask me, pictures of men should be used instead. So that us men (straight men) will feel uncomfortable and get the hell out of there ASAP. (Useful when the toilet is crowded and everyone is waiting patiently with their fly undone and weeners wagging.)

Papering women to the walls will only slow the entire process. Some men may get turned on and the walls may end up getting smudged. Something that should've taken 1 minute to complete will now take 5.

On the contrary, the feel of visual molestation may hasten the process. In the mix of it, foreskins may get caught (use buttonflys people!) and urea may trickle down your pants and stain your shoes.

All in all, I do not think this was a good idea at all. Eventhough I would give it 9/10 for artistic intent.

Nike Air Stab:

Rewind .. 1988. The Nike Air Stab running shoe gets released and becomes the first model to combine the Footbridge device with Air-Sole cushioning. On an unrelated note, it coincided with the launch of the 'Just Do It' campaign. To cut the long story short, there has never been any remakes (or retros as shoeheads prefer to call it) since 1988.

Since shoe collecting became a fad in the early-mid 90's, running shoe afficionados have waited tirelessly for this release. The endless retros of Air Max 95s in every colour imaginable by the people at Nike's design labs did little to help. I suspect they have been exhausted of their brain juices now that they have retroed almost every shoe of the Air Max line. The coming 'History of Air' campaign is genuinely evident of that. Let's now cross our fingers that after the Air Stab, the Air Structure will get exhumed after almost a decade of slumber.

Fuck. I think I digressed too much there. (You can always click that 'X' on the top right hand corner you know.)

This is how the story goes .. FootPatrol got the opportunity to suggest the colours of the first pair of retroed Air Stab since 1988. (I honestly think they did a bloody good job.) So it wasn't surprising to see another queue forming outside the store for another exclusive shoe release.

For the uninitiated, only 960+ pairs were produced. Hence, the need to beat every other person just so you can land a pair in your size. Unless of course if you're gonna flip them on eBay as soon as you reach home, then size wouldn't be an issue.

First and foremost, apologies for not having made more posts than I would've liked. Argh, wotever.

It is close to 7:00pm and the last meal I had was lunch, yesterday. I am now freaking famished. 2 packets of M&Ms Peanut Butter doesn't have any effect at all. Mom fried some birds in the afternoon but I'm in the mood for something healthy. Been trying to avoid greasy food you see.

So guess what she's preparing right now as we speak? Ramen instant noodles. Sweet.

Still trying to decide whether or not to accompany *****-Zam to BarNone. One of his students is performing there later tonight. Never liked clubs. Ever.

A very sad day for wrestling fans, especially for my kid brother. I read about this tragedy at like 3am and broke the news to him immediately after he woke up from sleep. LOL. Mean right? Needless to say, he was gutted. The boy even said,"That's it. I'm done watching wrestling." Aww..

He was without a doubt, one of WWE's more hilarious, popular and colourful characters. At least I got to see him 'live' in action when they came over for the SmackDown Tour.

The bottom right of my screen is showing 4:33am. It's been an hour an a half since I woke up from my sleep to pee and now I cannot put myself back to sleep. So what better to make a blog entry eventhough there's nothing much to write about. Guess for once, I'll put to words whatever's at the tip of mind this very nanosecond ..

Conversation with a friend on MSN a couple of days ago ..

Friend: I told him that he's not a cat.

Me: Errr .. (?)

Friend: He doesn't have 9 lives and that he shouldn't go around ruining his own life and other girls' as well.

Me: Okay.

Major props to the Australian authorities for having managed to foil a possible major terrorism attack. 17 people arrested in Melbourne and Sydney. Yeah you get concerned with every terror-related news but this one's a tad different. 'Cos a very dear friend of mine is studying in Melbourne. She takes the public transport alot and God knows what those crackheads had in mine.

I should really call her tomorrow. Damn, it's been months now. Wonder why she hasn't returned for the holidays. Probably still having exams. She's really gotta nail this final round of exams. 'Cos you see she wants to get into a vet school. Back in the days, one of her kittens was born with a deep cut on her tummy (believed to be the fault of other cats trying to eat it up) and she did her own surgery on the little dude. Think she applied some form of lotion or something. Yikes! And how dare she ask me to help her hold the limbs. Damn! Needless to say, a huge fight followed. Remind me to ring her up later in the day.

Finally, my pair of holy grails (the red pair) arrived in the mail this morning. Gotta thank the seller for being patient with me while I waited tirelessly for my buyers to make payment. Bought the other 2 pairs off this fella in London. It is near impossible to find these pairs nowadays, let alone one in your size. So a pair in used condition will do just fine. A deadstock pair in my size would probably fetch around US$350-400 today.

And I missed the red pair when he put them up on eBay. So I tracked down the person who bought it. And I had to pay close to 3 times the amount of what he paid (don't ask how much, my mouth's zipped). Checked the packing to slip to see where he came from. Surprise, surprise - Hong Kong, where resellers are bred.

I'm darn sure he bought 4 pairs of early editions at a cheap price from the same guy in London only to resell them at a higher price. I know, 'cos we exchanged quite a number of emails trying to come to a price (to satisfy his greed). He kept reiterating what these babies are worth in the market, blah blah. Let's not get anywhere near the topic of reselling 'cos I can write an award winning thesis on that.

Thanks again to Simon for the equally-impossible-to-acquire t-shirt. Now, I have a matching top to go with the wovens. Yay!

No more shoes until the turn of the year. Okay, maybe just one more. And I'll be needing alot of luck to be able to land a pair at retail. Come on Ricardo, you can do it one more time. It wouldn't hurt.

Welcomed the visit of Mike Smith (from Seattle, Washington) yesterday morning. Sort of an unplanned visit. You see he's been on a cruise for a few weeks now. Being out at sea for 9 straight days at one time. Sheesh. From the West Coast of the USA, visiting the likes of Russia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore before finally coming to a halt in Thailand. Singapore wasn't supposed to be on the itinerary or so he said.

Anyway, it was finally nice to meet him in the flesh and converse outside of my 19-inch Philips flat panel monitor. But he only had like 6 hours to spend here 'cos it wasn't an overnight stop. What a waste. Could've watched the Man Utd-Chelski match together.

Quick coffee fix at Starbucks before heading down to Queensway (he's an American who loves his football, thanks to his Mom being English I suppose). A Barcelona (Eto'o) and Liverpool (Cisse) jersey set him back $270. Quite a bargain considering it included all the official patches, numberings and letterings and the fact that you cannot get hold of them over there in the States.

Then, we headed back to town for lunch at Marché. The calamari there turns cold in a flash. I'm not sure if the air-conditioning has anything to do with that.

After lunch, it was time for goodbye as he had to catch his shuttle bus back to the Pasir Panjang Wharf where his huge-ass cruise docked.

Really great to finally put a face to a screenname and meet your e-friend. Mike, if I ever manage to get my ass on American soil, I'll be sure to hit you up. Now, there are a few others who I'd like to meet. There's Judy and Kevin from Davis, California (top of the list) ... Daisy and Tommy from Brooklyn, New York ... Marcus from Seattle, Josh and Paul from London.

Someone teach me how to apparate already!

The word 'mess' holds two totally different meanings in this household, almost polarizing. Well, between me and my mom at least. 'Cause you see, as long as I know where my stuff are, no matter how cluttered my room may be ... I refuse to describe my sanctuary as a slipshod one.

But having spent the evening wiping off dust and what not, I'll have to come clean and admit that my room was indeed in a mess. And I really mean it.

Always leaving it late until the 11th hour each year, thinking that I can do the whole maid magic act in an hour or 2 ... 3 hours tops. It actually is possible, provided I do it at my mom's pace.

I keep too much junk like flyers, magazines, postcards, postcards and more postcards. You know, things that serve no purpose after sometime. And more postcards. I even shocked myself when I found out that I had like 50 pieces of the same postcard with Mandy Moore on it. I'm such a whore. Sheesh.

Keeping and collecting items is a strong trait of any Piscean. Anyhow, I think I managed to get rid of 2kg of postcards. You keep things for a reason or so you think.

Photographs are the worst. The worst. Such a time-consuming chore. I'll start looking at them until the memories come back. Memories eh? 'Cause these are photos taken using non-digital cameras. Yes, they're from that long ago! Nobody develops photos taken by digital cameras.

The lecture notes have been discarded as well, sad to say. I guess I won't be needing them anyway. So much effort put into my note-takings (those who've had the privilege of sitting next to me will know). All comes to nothing in the end. Oh well, C'est La Vie.

Arranged the shoe boxes and rather glad to know that they are still at the safe region of ± 37 pairs. Too many pairs of Air Wovens. The Samba/Game Blue pair shall be the last. Still questioning my sanity over the amount I paid. Hoping to land one last pair for the year though and it's in purple and black.

At the end of the night, I am glad to see my room in its new state. Not as sparkingly spanking as I would've liked, but it does give you that rewarding feel. If anything, I'm superly-satisfied. Now, I feel like I can do this everyday. Maybe not everyday. Weekly? Stop kidding to yourself.

In its entirety, I've finally learnt to accept the true meaning of 'mess'. Mess is when ..

your black furniture has enough dust for you to run your finger through and leave your John Hancock on
an item remains untouched and ~~stationery~~ stationary for more than one week
a mini-mound is forming at the corner of your eye
a group of things start to gather haphazardly
you thought you knew your room well enough
when that secret place you occassionaly use to stash personal stuff gets overly-used, losing its secrecy altogether (think women who keep their money in their bras back in the day)
you stumble upon something you never knew existed, until you do a full-year's rewind

Late.

You know how you can sometimes be late in catching up with fashion, the latest 'in' thing, getting your next menstrual cycle, etc. But I'm late on catching up with the OC hype. It's been long gone that I think it is inapt use the word 'late' now.

For whatever reason, I couldn't put myself to sleep last night. So I decided to lie on the sofa hoping to fall asleep to some stupid late night show. Then at 2am, The OC happened to air on Channel 5. I've never watched this show in full, let alone for more than 15 minutes. Really. I've always likened this show to One Tree Hill, which in my humble opinion is a complete waste of time.

So I thought, great The OC will be my visual lullabye. Hell no. I got more awake as the show developed. Shit, I am starting to like this show. But it only airs at 2am, 2 fucking in the am.

I hate being late.

Lackadaisical (Liverpool).

After The OC, I decided to do a final channel-surf. Lo and behold, Crystal Palace was playing Liverpool on Super Sports. Great. Went down 1-0 before Super Stevie levelled the score. I feel bad for that bloke. He should just move to Real Madrid. At the end of the night, we lost 2-1.

Nevermind if Kewell's back. He still keeps passing the ball to the opponent (one of which resulted in a goal for Palace). As guilty as Luis Garcia. A trademark of the supposedly creative players in the squad.

Djimi Traore needs to retire and play cricket. The youths Stephen Warnock, David Raven and Darren Potter deserve more credit and playing time than they're currently getting.

Watched Tiramisu on Channel 5 yesterday because I really had nothing to do. Reason why I haven't been watching it is because I think it's just gonna be another failure. Like these following shows:

Living with Lydia (damn I can't stand her.)
Chase (no need to say more.)
Chemistry (at least there was Rui En to look at.)

Back to Tiramisu .. why does Sharon Au always have to play the role of someone Singlish-ed? Pity that girl.

Then later on, the girlfriend of the head chef caught my attention and I shot right up from my half-lying down position. This face is eeriely familiar. Have seen her soooo many times. Found out at the end of the show, that her name is Jaymee Ong. Googled and found her site. Why dead familiar? 'Cos she's the face of Meyson Jewellery, that's why. Her face splashed in magazines and huge-ass posters at shopping malls. Not complaining. She's eye-candy.

That's all for tonight. Craving for ice-cream but I've lost my taste anything sweet for the time being.

Received an MMS with a picture of this $10 note with 6061 as the last 4 digits of the note's serial number. Now, who is mental and meticulous so as to pay attention to this sorta detail you may ask. Well, my friend, Sebastian Tay.

Visited him at the store today since I happened to be in the vicinity. I thought he was going to give me that note for free. But that was not to be.

Was at Isetan Lido yesterday afternoon ... walked around and something caught my attention. A jumper, in deep pink. 90% of me wanted to have a closer and look at the item and probably try it on. But the remaining 10% reminded me that I'm supposed to be done with that hue - whether it's deep, medium or light.

I think I walked past that section for like 6 times before finally giving in. Perfect fit and ~~pretty~~ preppy in pink. Off to the cashier. At least it didn't cost more than one blue note. If anything, I got a pretty good deal.

And so, no requiem for the colour pink (yet). Remitted to another day.

Ran some errands yesterday during lunchtime. Great to travel around in town on a Monday afternoon - no crowd to put up with. And better still, if you have the car to yourself! I love parking the car at the lot behind the California Fitness Centre. Never fail to spot some of my dreams on four-wheels. So when I returned to the car, I found this irritatingly cute VW Beetle Cabriolet parked innocently next to my ride. And opposite, a 7-series BMW. New game in town - scissors, paper, phone.

Played court football last evening, just to see if the back could take it. 'Cos inactivity makes it all more painful - as strange as that sounds. I shouldn't have pushed it on the court. On my way back while driving, the pain from the back crept down to both my femurs - the spasmic and throbbing kind. It is not funny at all when the biggest and strongest bone in your body hurts like crazy.

It is now exactly 3:00am and I'm in extreme pain. Trying my darndest not to pop the painkillers. Fuck, it's unbearable. Better try to sleep it off.

The more I walked, the less my back hurts. This is a huge problem cos I love inactivity - sleeps, naps, lazing on the couch. Don't we all ..

Ran into Simon in town. Hand in hand with a girl whom I thought wasn't his girlfriend. I keep forgetting what she looks like. Adeline is her name, right?

Anyhow, managed to do all that I'd wanted. Except for that one thing which I've been wanting to do this whole week - pick up a t-shirt from Ben. Totally slipped my mind. Pssh. It really doesn't help that he stays in Kallang.

Don't you just hate it when you're chasing time and simply cannot find a parking lot. Well, I almost didn't make it to the post office due to that very reason. Spent a good 15-20 minutes waiting for one.

Later on, I managed to get the best parking lot at City Hall's basement carpark (had to meet a buyer for Simon's shoes). No waiting required, as if it was already reserved for me. Best because it was right smack next to the entrance into the shopping mall.

Bought a Mushroom Swiss meal at Burger King and took my own sweet time eating in the car with Jewel singing in the background. Every car that approaches in search of an empty lot will decelerate to a crawl, looking at me as though I'm a zoo exhibit (wondering if I'm about to drive off).

They must be neo-idiots of some sort. Can't they see that I have a burger in one hand and a drink in the other? It's like everyone in the car will stick their heads out and STARE at me as they would witnessing penguins copulating at the zoo.

Sometimes I'll pretend not to see them and sometimes I'll just wag my finger with a polite smile (indicating a no-no, as in no, I'm not ready to move off).

8 out of the 10 cars that pass by will be continental luxury cars or their equivalents (driven by Tai-Tais and people of higher class). E/S Class, 3/5/7 Series, SLK, IS/ES/GS - yeah you get my point. So I decided to give up the lot to the ones who really need it.

Final stop of the day, to pick up some diamonds as mentioned earlier. One of the highly anticipated releases of the year. A little lowdown for you .. it earned the moniker of Tiffany dunk SBs only because the colours coincide with that of the jewellery makers' - it ends there. More appropriately, diamond dunk SBs - as the colours were suggested by the skate company Diamond Supply Co.

Set me back S$189 (damn, I really need to kick this habit). Kids and their reselling ways is the reason why true collectors have to queue up for these shoes 48 hours prior to launch so as to avoid paying the market rate which is around 2 folds of the retail price.

And no, I did not queue for them. Don't ask how I got them without having to queue, I ain't telling.

Season 3 just got aired on Channel 5. Missed the first episode last week cos it totally slipped my mind. And for the life of me, I almost missed it again last night but managed to watch the 2nd half of it while channel surfing. Definitely my 2nd most favourite reality TV programme - after The Amazing Race.

I thought this is the 3rd season but the official site says this is the 4th. Now, what's going here Channel 5?

Major major blooper of a blunder (yes, that's the severity of it) .. I'm not the sort who goes online to find out the results way ahead. But I just did by ACCIDENT. Now, I'm mad pissed! (This post has just been shortlived. Big time.)

Chanced upon this team photo while visiting other blog sites. Initially I thought that Peter Crouch'd be a complete waste of £7m but not anymore. Sure he'll do us a whole lotta good.

Another day at work .. kids never fail to surprise you. This class of Sec 3 students were changing their attire for PE. I stepped in to write a notice on their whiteboard. At that time, there were like 3 girls in the class. As I turned my back and left, I told them to remind the class about the upcoming class test. Here are the replies I received: (in quick succession no less.)

Girl 1: Yes Sir.
Girl 2: Yes Sir.
Girl 3: Yes Daddy. (I kid you not and honest to God! I think the dolphins in Sentosa heard the exclamation of WTF in my head.)

Finally, my copy arrived. But I ordered mine from the club's online store. It set me back $90, after P+P. Worth every penny if I can say so myself and definitely better than err .. porn.

I've never felt safer making an online purchase. They're unbelievably efficient and trustworthy. Just place your order and wait. I cannot be the least bothered to purchase them from the brick and mortar equivalents here eventhough they may cost slightly cheaper. Plain lazy and besides I could end up spending more money on other stuff.

Can now get rid of the VHS version which I recorded from ESPN's repeat telecast (Hey, DVD recorders cost alot OK!) Besides, this DVD set comes in a stunning silver cardbox cover and ravishing red plastic case.

Will only be able to watch it tomorrow though. For the 77th time I think.

Was in the car the other day listening to the radio. And Perfect 10 was playing a song by some local band - it sounded alright. Then I tried to recall names of local bands and musicians alike who managed some airplay (especially those in the 90's).

And one name stuck out like a sore thumb - Ger. When her first single My Special Angel first got played on the radio, it sounded so eeriely good that like most of you, I was guilty of stereotyping it as not coming from a local musician.

Released circa 1997 it enjoyed much success. Toppling over Toni Braxton to enjoy 2 weeks at #1 on the local chart and #7 at the year's end Top 100. I bought the CD Dazed & Confused, a local compilation, just to be able to play that song on repeat mode on my Discman (only ultra techno geeks owned MP3 players back then) for days. OK, I just lied .. weeks actually.

It got played so many times on my way to and from school that it eventually came to sound like the drones of the bus engines.

Apparently, she released her first album in 2003. The good people at Tower Records (no longer exists, right?) and HMV agreed to sell the album. But Borders gave her the cold shoulder (thanks for not showing love and support to local musicians).

My iPod is in dire need of that song, best in MP3 format. 'Cause I'm not sure if I can still find that album in the stores. Forget trying to look for that Dazed & Confused album.

9 out of 10 of the movies that I watch will be at Orchard Cineplex. And that 1 time? Because that particular movie will only be shown at Shaw, Eng Wah or Golden Village (GV) cinemas.

Friday night is synonymous with nachos, popcorn, hotdogs and whatnots. So last night, Crash was on the list (good reviews, star studded cast - why not?). Orchard Cineleisure wasn't showing it so we made our way to GV Marina Square.

Screening was at exactly 12 midnight. Arrived at 11:50pm-ish. With tickets and food in hand we sat outside the theatre entrance, watching movie trailers on slick Samsung plasma TVs. There was not a single GV staff in sight at the door to collect our tickets. Only a huge sign stood in front of the door, prohibiting illegal entry / gatecrashing.

12 midnight - no sign of any ticket collector.

12:05am - Curious, one of us approached one of their staff at the ticketing counter. A somewhat blur character aka A.S.B.C (I know, I was the one who bought the tickets from him).

Here was how the convo went ..

Friend: 'Scuse me. Ticket says the show begins at 12am but there is nobody at the entrance to collect our tickets and allow entry into the theatre.

A.S.B.C: Oh. The movie will only begin at 12:10am, now would be the commercials and trailers. (what on Earth is he trying to say here? probably it'd make more sense on a different planet - say Pluto?)

Friend: * WTF * (chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and went back to our seats).

12:20am - Still no sign of anyone. Finished our food. God damn. Decided to approach ANOTHER person. This time someone that appears to be their manager or someone higher in rank.

Friend: It is already 12:20am and where is your staff who is supposed to be at the entrance of the theatre? (A.S.W.C is by the manager's side)

A.S.B.C: Oh! (Oh, your head lah!) You mean there wasn't anyone at the door since just now? (Psshh.) Did you guys just arrive? (Trying to turn the tables on us smarty pants?)

Friend: NO! We arrived before 12am. We want a refund.

And the manager obliges (he fricken' has to!). At this point, there still isn't a member of their staff at the door. Apparently, only 9 people were in the theatre. Probably, they thought that due to the poor patronage, there wouldn't be anymore coming in. Still, that's not good enough a reason.

On the way out, I thought to myself ... "Got our money back. Let's sneak in."

Of course we didn't do that. We're honest people.

Brilliant. Just this once that I was gonna patron a GV cinema, someone has to screw it up for us.

Edit: One more thing .. Nachos combo = $6.50 (that's what the menu says accompanied by a photo of a drink with nachos AND cheese).

Lady at counter: Do you want to add cheese?

Me: Yes, of course.

Lady at counter: That'll be another $0.50.

Me: OK. (think to myself .. WTF but the photo already shows that cheese is included.)

I make payment and she hands me my drink and nachos with an EXCESSIVE amount of cheese. Only later did I realise .. she must've meant .. "Do you want ~~to add~~ EXTRA cheese?"

So whose fault was it?

Living in a relatively new estate, there is no ground-level carpark, only multi-storey ones. On most nights, I'd be out with the boys for supper and will only be back by 2-4am. By that time, in order to park the car, I'd have to drive right up to the uppermost floor of the multi-storey carpark. Which at 4am, can be quite a chore (not to mention dizzying).

Used to get fined alot for parking the car under the block or in HDB terminology: Illegal Parking in Common Property. It's been more than a year since I got a summon.

Last night, I got reminded not to be a lazy ass. Got back at 2am and couldn't be the least bothered to park at the multi-storey. And as I sat on the sofa waiting for the match to start, I heard a motorbike (scooter to be precise) scooting off from downstairs (I live on the 2nd floor and I've got an acute sense of hearing too fyi). Nobody here rides scooters except ~~fucking attendants~~ parking attendants. I looked out the window and I see a flailing sheet of paper on the windscreen.

End of story. I'm mad because I'm getting paid today and there goes $100 of it.

Was left starving since the last post (some 14 hours 39 mins ago). Finally, Mom and Sis came back from JB with major food. Totally slipped my mind to ask Mom to bring back some of my favourite donuts. But you can count on your mom to strike this innate telepathy with your stomach.

But these sinful saccharine-drenched donuts are nastily sweet. Even for my liking. Has anyone here had the privilege of savouring some of KrispyKreme's equivalent? Have heard nothing but endless praises. The nearest place where you can sink your incisors into them is ... Australia.

Kookiness of the weather's starting to get to me. On days that I do not have to go to work, it pours. Like now. Pssh.

I say: psychological
Student A writes: syclogical and bicycles (nevermind the syclogical. But bicycles?!)

I say: actors and actresses
Student B writes: Jay Zhou and _______ (he must've thought I asked for names of actors and actresses. ~ sigh ~)

It's moments like these that the word cute still applies to 13 year-olds.

Yesterday, my mom bought me a shirt from Marks & Spencer but it turned out to be a tad big. And that very evening I made my way to the Wheelock Place outlet (wanting to exchange for a smaller size), taking for granted that 77% of the shops in town close only at 9pm. Set foot into the store at 8:30pm and was immediately greeted by an announcement. I thought it was going to be another reminder regarding their 40-70% discount off most items.

How wrong! "Dear shoppers, we are closing for the day. Thank you and have a pleasant evening." Fricken hell, what luck! I'll bloody make sure I arrive at the store later today while the sun is still up.

Disappointed and not wanting to waste the trip, I headed to the Coach boutique at Takashimaya (Level 2 or 3). Wanted to look for a brown belt. (You need to match your belt with your shoes or pants you know.) I stepped into the small store and took a quick gander around. No belts for men? Damn.

Spotted the salesgirl at the cashier together with another Chinese lady in a black oriental-influenced top whom I thought was a customer. As I was approaching them, the latter turned and offered help. I was awe/dumb-struck, astounded, marvelled, astonished, startled at her beauty - in its most raw state (all 1.70m of her). I swear I still have no idea what the other salesgirl (former) actually looked like - even if she had turbo pink eyebrows for that matter.

Such a stunning knockout she was that I think I kept making small steps backwards as I enquired regarding the availability of the belts. I was genuinely intimidated. Honest. OK enough already! (No. Not enough. Enough. No.)

Having read this, I'd like to emphasize that there wasn't a single tinge of lust in my body. I only noticed her from the neck up!

As some of you know, I do a little of relief teaching at this particular school which I will not name. Now you see the reasons behind the shirt and belt?

I love snail mails (excluding bills & junk mail), especially unexpected ones. Today, I received one in an A4-sized envelope. I thought it was the one I've been longing for. You see, someone from London owes me something like US$180 and he's been promising to mail it to me but that's another story altogether.

But this piece of mail was from Brooklyn, New York. The envelope was covered in graff-style handwriting, thankfully not the address. It can only be from one person, Tommy Gross, the giant of a man who wears US13 shoes.

Inside the envelope contained a colouring book, a shoe colouring book to be precise. His friend came up with this idea and it costs US$12 on fourxfourthestore.com. Templates include that of classics like the Air Force 1, Dunk, Air Jordan, Air Max Line, Superstar - just to name a few.

I will so not start oozing creative juices for fear that I'd ruin the book. Probably, I'll just paint everything in pink.

Alright, thi$ i$ $omewhat $trange. Was looking for my watch in the drawer when I chanced upon some dog-eared orange and red papers, could only see the edges as it was stashed inside my old cardholder.

1 $10 and 2 $100 notes. What luck. Since my teenage years, I've always made it a habit to hide loose change in some place privy only to myself.

I open that drawer a few times a day, trust me. Perhaps I've always avoided that dusty little corner.

Not that I have many readers but apologies for the lack of updates or non-existence of it. Fell sick last Wednesday till Friday. Went away to Terengganu with Dad for the weekend. Lotsa photo-taking opportunities but the idiot in me left the camera at home. What a dimwit.

Nonetheless, the lastest pick-up (Nike 'Union' Air Force 180) arrived last Friday. Here's what it looks like:

No prizes or kisses for guessing why I gotta wrap my feet with these. Safari print, custom neoprene camo and the Agassi-fade (in pink, no less!) - purrfect. And no, I did not pay US$265 which you see on the PYS site. That's reseller price (and also the market value when it first dropped). I paid a hook-up price of S$220 (thanks alot Sebastian, owe you one). Rumour has it, around 1,500 pairs.

Credit goes to Chris Gibbs (the dude pictured below) for being both creative and daring enough to conjure up a pair of this magnitude. The colours just exudes the late 80s / early 90s nostalgic feel.

The end is near. It has been dying on me repeatedly for the past month. Sometimes, as much as 20 times in a day. Eventhough it is a hand-me-down (hand-me-up cos it's from the kid brother?), it still holds some value. Used to hate clam-shell phones but I've grown to like it. The successors of the first Nokia clam-shell are either too heavy or look like they came out of a 10-year old's sketch book.

I'm just ranting cos it's a humdrum of a Friday. Batman Begins turned out to be better than I'd expected though. A little off-putting when his voice turns hoarse everytime he gets into Bat-mode. And Katie Holmes needs to invest in some of these.

Here are 2 of my favourite female food connoisseurs on TV. Jamie Oliver has only just got knocked off the list. The first just looks mouthwatering posing with food. The second, well you just gotta catch her cooking programme (aptly named Nigella Bites) yourself. Play from the 1st round of qualifying? Simply preposterous! That's like 6 matches to gain entry into the Group Stage. Talk about starting the season early. Rafael Benitez surely has his work cut out for him this season (we're representing Europe in December's FIFA World Club Championships if you don't already know).

Although the transfer kitty is in the range of £30-40m, the clubs whose players LFC has been linked to are demanding exorbitant amounts (£5m for Crouch? WTF. Why is Benitez even considering him?). A hectic season calls for smart spending.

Anyhow, I hope we'll draw Everton in the 3rd round of qualifying and show them who's Daddy.

Finally got down to purchasing a fish-eye/macro lens. The salesman who served me at Song Brothers (Sim Lim Square) kept asking why I needed one. Somehow, he just found it kooky that someone would want it. So I just told him that I wanted to experiment, which led to him asking: "Experiment what?" And I accomodatingly answered, "Experiment with photography." Dooh!

Stuck in the 2nd worst traffic jam of my life this evening. Almost didn't make it to the airport to fetch Dad. Need to get soft, thick cushions. Everytime I get stuck in jams, my twin cheeks start to hurt like crazy. It's like spasmic menstrual cramps in the ass. No, seriously.

Road users need to drive/ride with extra care especially during peak hours, just out of consideration. Take this evening for example: accident on the 2 right lanes on the ECP, near Fort Road towards Changi Airport. The jam snaked all the way back to Lower Delta - imagine that. I'm sure many people didn't make it to catch their flights. Traffic remained at a standstill for long periods, not even like the jerky motions forward.

Nevermind. Gotta jet to JB for supper now. Later alligators.

Spent last night accompanying a friend in hospital (Class A ward - fricken' luxurious!) and watching Boys & Girls on Channel 5. A familiar face starred alongside Freddie Prinze Jr. A drop dead gorgeous lady, whose name I do not have the slightest hint.

Googled and Claire Forlani is her name. I knew I've seen her in a few movies before, Meet Joe Black being one of them. She's my new-old favourite actress - if that makes any sense at all.

Here are 2 shots of her appearing in Boys & Girls and Meet Joe Black respectively. Beauty in its purest and most raw state.

Now, she should've played the lead role in this summer's Bewitched instead of that pill of an actress, Nicole Kidman. Mom would want to catch this movie. We watch it alot on the Hallmark Channel.

Been quite a while ..

.. since I last made good money on eBay. Normally, I'd be spending more than I would be selling. Don't you just love the convenience of online shopping? Talk about wearing your pyjamas or eating maggie mee while window shopping. Free from having to snake your way through irritating aunties with their children in hand and JC students with their lowly slung haversacks.

Shall not digress any further. Selling on eBay can be a bitch when you end up with deadbids or not getting good moolah for your stuff. However, I've hit the jackpot this past week. Spent quite a bit buying some Adidas Superstar 35th Anniversaries and Liverpool CL Final memorabilia (jerseys, scarfs & match programmes - bloody sterling pounds!).

Item #1

Bought this 2002 Adidas GB Tracktop for £110 last year before the market value escalated further. Threw it on eBay since I don't quite like how the material feels and because there wasn't any other listed for sale (potential money making opportunity). And managed to sell it for £167. That's like S$150 profit. Ü

Item #2

Paid something like £65 for this just after Liverpool won the 2001 UEFA Cup Final. Too big for me, so I decided to put it up for sale too. Again, this was going to be the only one listed. Sold for £103 to my surprise. The recent victory over A.C Milan must have helped. S$115 profit. Sweet.

If only I can do this for a living like some do on eBay. Hmm...

How cataclysmic they can be. I always try my best to resist associating bad driving/riding with the female of the species. But sometimes I just cannot help it. Please refrain from viewing this as a 'female-bantering' post. Save your opinions for later.

Basement carpark of Anchor Point (opposite IKEA)

As I was making my way to exit the carpark, I found myself behind a white Lexus IS200. This is a car favoured by the high-end Ah Beng. I thought it was also going to make its way to the exit. But it stayed stationary for a good 10 seconds. And so I played the role of an exemplary driver - a patient one.
Suddenly, the driver switched into reverse gear. I was like, "Eh, changed into wrong gear or what?" Then, the right signal light started to flicker. Now, I started to realise that the car was going into parking mode. But where is it gonna park? I looked in front and to my right but all the lots were taken.
The car started to roll back slowly. I took a quick look at the rear-view mirror before changing into reverse gear. (I can't possibly not move or I could end up getting accused of crashing into it.) Then something caught my attention - an empty lot, 3 car lengths behind! Some nerve this driver has (and vision too, spider sense?). Making another round the carpark won't hurt now, would it?
And so the patient driver budges. I honestly thought that the driver would at least be an Ah Beng. But, I should have known better. Took a good look at her as I drove past. No apologetic raise of hand. Nothing. To say that she was nonchalant would be nothing short of sacrilegious.

Was walking at the void deck. Up ahead was sort of a cross junction, where 2 paths intersect. I wouldn't be able to see a person who would be coming from my right towards my left as there stood a huge pillar - a totally blind corner so to speak.
A lot of residents ride bicycles since the shops and MRT station is about 5-10 minutes walk away. So, I've always taken extreme care when approaching these blind corners eventhough I have yet to get knocked down by a bicycle.
Well, it almost occurred just now. I took smaller steps as I approached that intersect. No sound indicating that a bicycle was nearing, I proceeded forward. Beyond my wildest dream, an aunty rocketed past almost knocking me over. She almost hit a nearby wall as a result. I wouldn't be the least sorry if she did. How careless, absent-minded, inconsiderate and suicidal. It seemed as if she just protruded out from platform 9¾ - magical!

End of rant.

A Liverpool fan gatecrashed the Champions League winners' photo shoot after borrowing an official tracksuit.
Nineteen-year-old Lee Dames spotted the outfit by the dugout and put it on while everyone else was distracted by the medal ceremony in Istanbul.
He then lined up alongside his heroes, who played along with the prank.
Dames, a semi-professional player with Unibond League outfit Burscough, said: "The players were nudging each other about me and thought it was funny."
He told the Liverpool Echo: "I just had to be with the team. I grabbed a tracksuit from the dugout. It was unbelievably brilliant."
"It was tremendous enough to win the cup, but to get involved like that was the icing on the cake."
Dames featured in several newspapers and has instructed his family to keep hold of them so he can see himself when he gets back from Turkey next week.
Dames' father, Paul, was watching the match in a Liverpool bar when he suddenly saw a familiar face.
"I spotted him and thought: 'That's not my son, is it?' I was flabbergasted," he said.

Friday evening. Still overwhelmed with emotions. This simper on my face will remain etched for quite a while now. No problems with choosing what to wear for the coming week or 2. Yeah, you get my drift.

750,000 thousand fans gathered from East Prescot Road to St George's Hall - to witness the Homecoming Champions Parade. Really wish I was there. Browsed through the soccer sites and trusty GettyImages (best form of vicarious participation I guess, apart from being there on ground zero itself).

Woke up at noon yesterday. Eventhough kickoff was a good 14 hours away, I just couldn't stop feeling restive. Didn't even bother to watch Bo versus Carrie, considering I've been following the show religiously. Nothing else deserves precedence.

7:00pm - Dad came back and the car is available for use. Wanted to go to
Weston and grab myself a Liverpool scarf but it was not to be.

7:10pm - Received a text message from Simon saying that he wouldn't be able to make it for the Lebron James Nike Air Force 1 ballot and that I should go on his behalf. By the time I was ready to leave, it was already 7:35pm.

8:00pm - Arrived at Limited Edt Vault just as they were about to start the ballot. Don't ask me how I managed to travel from Choa Chu Kang to Orchard Road in 25 minutes with the evening jam and slight drizzle, not to mention having to find a place to park. For the curious, it took a bit of reckless driving with alot of care and risk. (wtf?) Oh and 2 near misses.
Mandeep was already about to give his short speech before the ballot was to begin. And there I was squeezing through the crowd to submit my ballot coupons. I could feel those 30-40 pairs of eyes all looking at me in sheer disgust. In retrospect, I think some even scoffed at me. Cheebs. The best has yet to come.

8:05pm - The draw begins. I was the 3rd person to be called. These people must have blurted out every single profanity known to man when my name got called. I mean who wouldn't? Just because he happened to be a latecomer? Come on lah. Had to practise a bit of tact so as to not further piss the crowd off. So I just retreated back to the counter nonchalantly to make payment for the shoes. Unlike some who cheered as though they had just won the Big Sweep.

11:00pm - Lamboghini-ed my way home.

1:00am - Arrived at UE Square, where the new clubhouse is located. Frickin cluttered. Walking around that building, you could see 4 out of every 5 people on the street in a Liverpool jersey. I just loved it. Time running out, nearing kick off. In desperate need of a place to watch the game. Didn't expect the guys to accept my suggestion of Hotel 81. Fast forward.

2:30am - With the sort of luck Lady Luck can't provide, we found ourselves seated at a pub called Wine & Sake Loft located at Prinsep Place. Almost like a private screening. Pub was closed. Only the owner and his friend were seated in front of the giant screen. Were told that they didn't have a license to stay open after 3am and that they were doing this at their own risk. But they were kind enough to let us stay and watch. Soon a group of 7 turned into 20 ... 30.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssstttttttttttttttt Forward. We're bizzack, thanks to Dudek. The trophy is ours for keeps, having won it for the 5th time. Next year, we'll get to wear that purple patch on the left sleeve. The same ones you see on the sleeves of Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich players. Only teams that have either won the tourney 5 times or 3 times consecutively have the rights to that purple patch.

Amazing, astounding, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, extraordinary, hair-raising, heart-stirring, magnificent, marvellous, miraculous, moving, overwhelming spectacular, spine-tingling, striking, stunning, stupefying, stupendous, wonderful. Pick your own word to describe what 500 million people around the world have witnessed there in Istanbul last night. What the hell - pick a few. No single word can describe the greatest comeback ever known in world football.

And to quote Stevie G, "I just hope UEFA will allow us to play in it again next season. It's called the Champions League and so the Champions should be in it." Rightly so.

Now, SPH had better print extra copies of The New Paper by the truckloads today. I shall end here. Still can't wipe this sheepish grin off my face. Shall leave you with some photos to sum up the night. Fuck. Its 8:30am.

The just concluded Monaco F1 GP was unlike any other. And I'm not referring to the reckless manoeuvres and overtakings. Alright, Fernando Alonso's slip from 2nd to 4th in the latter part of the race was nothing short of an adrenaline rush for both Renault and Williams fans.

However, the weekend should go to the Red Bull team. They've already got 'wings' and now F1 racing's newest team also have 'the force' on their side - Red Bull have teamed up with the makers of the Star Wars films for the Monaco GP.

ID-ing some Prestos.

When you love colours so much and there is an entire palette of shades at your disposal, what was deemed to be fun slowly turned into a chore. Anyhoo, after 30 minutes of endless tweaking ... Nikes in aurorical formats.

So which pair piques your interest? I love them all.

Pink and lime green have never looked so proper on a shoe (okay, perhaps just the Bapesta x Unkles). The star shaped perforations and the subtleness of details simply does it. Just when I have stopped wearing anything pink, this comes along. (Adidas, what about a Steffi tracktop next?)

Gosh!! Isn’t it nice when you see a women’s shoe looking girly, without being cheesy! What I like about these is the colour co-ordination and the attention to detail. The star shaped perforations are unique. The bold neon lime in the lining and on the sole is just enough to turn heads and is matched perfectly with the bright pink! What makes these shoes so great is the subtle things like the silver lining on the stripes, trefoil embedded in the eyelets and pink stitching in the laces, making these beauties almost faultless! In shops at the end of the month. - Crooked Tongues.
